Code of Conduct

Last updated:

Matched X Singles is a social padel and dating event. Everyone should be able to take part without pressure, intimidation or unsafe behaviour. These expectations apply to guests, hosts and anyone helping run an event, on court, off court and in event-related contact afterwards.

Respect and consent

Be considerate, use people’s names respectfully and accept that someone may not want to chat, date, touch, pose for a photo or share details. Consent must be freely given and can be withdrawn. Joining the event, smiling, being friendly or matching is not consent to physical or sexual contact.

Do not pressure someone for an explanation after a refusal. If you are unsure whether attention is welcome, ask and respect the answer. Silence or hesitation is not a reason to continue.

No harassment or discrimination

Harassment, discrimination, threats, bullying and degrading or sexual comments are not acceptable. This includes behaviour targeting someone’s age, disability, race, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or other personal characteristics.

Do not make unwanted advances, touch someone without permission, repeatedly approach someone who has declined, follow them or share private information to embarrass or intimidate them. Do not retaliate against someone for raising a concern.

On-court safety

No pressure after the event

Respect other people’s choices. Do not pressure anyone to match, share contact details or meet again, during or after the event. Do not use social media to get around a refusal or a request to stop contacting someone, and do not ask friends to pursue them on your behalf.

Sharing contact details

We share contact details only on a mutual match. No match means nothing is shared with the other participant. Matching choices are private: do not demand to see another person’s choices or share them with others.

A match is not ongoing consent to contact or a meeting. Respect anyone who declines further conversation or asks you to stop. Do not pass someone’s contact details to another person without their permission.

Photos and privacy

Ask before photographing or recording someone and before posting or sharing an identifiable image. Respect anyone who does not want to join a group photo. Do not record private conversations or matching choices. Taking part in an event does not give blanket consent to photography or publicity.

Reporting concerns

If something makes you uncomfortable or unsafe, speak to a host at the event. You can also email hello@matchedxsingles.co.uk about behaviour during the event or unwanted event-related contact afterwards. You do not have to confront the person yourself.

Share what happened and any immediate help you need. Hosts should listen respectfully and avoid unnecessary disclosure, but absolute confidentiality cannot be promised if information is needed to protect someone or respond to a concern. If there is immediate danger or a medical emergency, move to safety if possible, alert a host and call 999.

Responding to unsafe behaviour

Depending on the concern, hosts may remind someone of the rules, give a warning, pause play, separate participants or require a person to leave. Serious harassment, violence or an immediate safety risk may mean removal without a warning. Responses should be proportionate to the behaviour and risk, not based on personal characteristics or someone declining a match.

Behaviour may also affect attendance at future events. Contact us if you want to raise a concern about how an incident was handled. Removal is not an automatic no-refund rule; booking terms and statutory rights still apply.
