Terms
Last updated:
These terms explain use of the Matched X Singles waitlist and the general expectations for our padel speed-dating events. The current website collects waitlist interest; it does not sell tickets. Event-specific booking information will be supplied before you buy.
Eligibility (18+, single)
Our singles events are for people who are single and aged 18 or over. Give accurate information about yourself and book only for an event whose stated eligibility and format suit you. The first events are mixed doubles with equal numbers of men and women; check the advertised format for each event.
Some padel experience is recommended. Coming alone or with friends is welcome. Any age-verification arrangements or other entry requirements will be explained with the booking information; submitting an age bracket on the waitlist is not proof of age.
The waitlist is not a booking
Joining the waitlist requests event updates. It does not reserve a place, guarantee a ticket or create a payment obligation. Capacity is limited and an invitation to hear about tickets is not a confirmed booking. You may skip the optional details without losing your waitlist signup.
Bookings and payment
Before purchase, the booking information will identify the organiser you are contracting with, the event date and location, eligibility, what is included, the total price and any charges, payment arrangements and how a booking is accepted and confirmed. It will also explain cancellation, refund and transfer terms. Read that information before paying and contact us if anything is unclear.
General announcements on this website are not a substitute for those details. These terms do not specify a payment provider or create extra fees. Keep your booking confirmation and the terms supplied with it.
Transfers to a same-gender friend
As described in our FAQ, you can transfer your ticket to a friend of the same gender to help keep the event numbers balanced. Your friend must also be single, 18 or over and meet the event’s stated eligibility.
Contact us about arranging a transfer rather than assuming that forwarding a confirmation changes the guest details. The event’s booking information will explain the transfer procedure and any timing requirements; no transfer deadline or fee is set by this page.
Cancellations and refunds
If you cannot attend, contact us and consider the transfer option above. Refund terms will be confirmed at booking, before purchase, including how to request cancellation and what happens if you do not attend. This page does not introduce a non-refundable ticket rule, cancellation charge or refund deadline.
Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. Event-specific terms cannot remove rights that the law gives you.
Event changes
Dates, venues and event arrangements can be affected by matters such as venue availability, weather or safety. Check the confirmed booking information rather than relying on an earlier announcement. For a booked event, any material change or cancellation should be communicated through the booking contact details, with the available options explained.
The booking information will set out how changes, rescheduling and organiser cancellation are handled. This page does not give us an unrestricted right to change a paid booking or withhold a refund; your statutory rights still apply.
Health and physical activity
Padel involves physical exertion, quick movements, balls, rackets and other players, with a risk of falls, collisions or injury. Consider whether the activity is suitable for you. If you are unsure, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before taking part.
Wear suitable sportswear and trainers, follow the host’s and venue’s safety instructions, and stop if you feel unwell, injured or unsafe. Tell a host about an immediate concern or a support need relevant to safe participation. Do not play while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Recognising these risks is not a waiver of our responsibility or your legal rights. See the liability section below.
Photography at events
The planned event format includes a group photo. Attendance is not blanket consent to be photographed or to have an identifiable image used in publicity. Information about organiser photography, intended uses and how to express your preferences must be made clear before photography takes place.
If you do not want to be photographed, tell a host and do not feel obliged to join a group photo. Contact us with questions or concerns about an image. We do not promise a particular photography or image-removal procedure on this page.
Ask before photographing or recording another participant, and separately before posting or sharing an identifiable image. Respect a refusal and avoid capturing private conversations or matching choices.
Conduct and right to refuse entry
Follow our Code of Conduct and the venue’s reasonable safety rules. Hosts may pause play, separate participants, refuse entry or require someone to leave where eligibility is not met or behaviour threatens safety or breaches the code. The response should be proportionate to the circumstances; a serious or immediate safety risk may require removal without a warning.
Removal does not itself create an automatic forfeiture of all payments. Any payment consequences must be considered under the booking terms and applicable consumer law. A match, romantic interest or future meeting is not guaranteed.
Liability
We remain responsible for obligations and liabilities that apply to us under law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Participants remain responsible for their own behaviour and choices, including respecting others’ boundaries. This is not a blanket exclusion of our responsibility for event safety, services or losses. Your statutory consumer rights are preserved.
Contact
For waitlist enquiries, booking questions, transfers, concerns or complaints, email hello@matchedxsingles.co.uk. Include enough information to explain your enquiry, but do not send payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information.
Matched X Singles is our event name, not a statement of a particular company’s registered identity. The contracting organiser’s identity and contact information will be supplied with the booking information before purchase. Our Privacy Policy explains the current website’s information handling.
